About

In a previous life I was a grown up. I worked in a bank in a responsible, secure and well-paid job as a senior manager. Then my children were born. Looking at them and yearning for them to live fully as themselves I realised it was time for me to embrace the creativity I had been hiding from.
Emerging Creativity
I wrote the first draft of my first novel, The Way Home and embarked on an MA in Acting at ArtsEd. As I graduated I began to realise that this creative life was going to require me to be more grown up than ever. Dealing with the uncertainty and the need to be self-propelled had me searching for a way to support myself in this creative life.
Positive Psychology
Out of this I started to research positive psychology. I learned about psychological strengths and the power of mindfulness with Penn University. I trained as a Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher and a Strengths Coach. I don’t want to survive my life, I want to thrive in my life. I also hope that by living these values those close to me or inspired by me will also seek to thrive in their precious lives.
Tedx Talk
At the end of 2019 I found myself back where my creative life began, at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama sharing my TEDx Talk, Grow Up and Get Creative. It was an honour and a privilege to share what I learned with my audience.
Always Learning
One of the many things I have learned about the creative life is there is no end to the learning. Every work is a work in progress and we are always trying to develop our expertise. I continue to attend acting classes and workshops, industry conferences in voice work and audiobooks and seek out coaches who can help me raise my game. I have also attended the FABER Write a Novel course to help me with my second novel.
Coaching
I love to share what I have learned and mentor others. I loved it in my previous roles and even more as a creative. I have run workshops in creative business planning at Drama Schools in London and with select groups of creatives. I have run Audiobook Essentials for Actors courses online, have been a mentor for the Audio Publishers Association and recently ran a meditation session for Audio Publishers Association Conference in New York.
How I can Help
With my experience as an audiobook narrator, writer and coach I can help you find ways to thrive in your creative life. I can support you as you develop your creative practice as an actor or writer and help you to work on your performance and storytelling skills.
I have specific plans for new narrators and for creative business planning but am always happy to make something bespoke to you so you can find a way to thrive in your creative life.
